All The Way PosterAll The Way - It’s not personal, it’s politics in this 2014 Tony Award-winning drama. President Lyndon Baines Johnson had a way about him. He could massage a victory with one hand and sell you down the river with the other, but brokering a deal is like playing with dynamite. With the country still reeling from President Kennedy’s assassination, and a rising tide of bitterness over Civil Rights, it will take more than politicking to hold America together — it will take red, white and blue-blooded leadership. Go all the way with LBJ, Martin Luther King, J. Edgar Hoover and more in this “beautifully built dramatic piece” (Variety) where the line between compromise and compromising your principles is as sharp as a knife.

President Lyndon B. Johnson dominated Washington politics and policy for more than 20 years. From civil rights and voting rights to clean water legislation and immigration reform and from the arts and education to Medicare and Medicaid, he left a lasting legacy of getting things done. The LBJ School of Public Affairs in Austin is bringing LBJ back to Washington DC by empowering a new “get it done” generation of professionals to practice LBJ’s brand of bipartisan federal policymaking in the nation’s capital.

The LBJ Washington Center, both a distinctive and professionally-focused federal public policy graduate program, and a bipartisan research and policy center, will provide students the extraordinary opportunity of working and earning a degree simultaneously in our nation’s capital.

The Washington Center’s unique 18-month federal public policy program is designed specifically for students who wish to launch and sustain their careers in the nation's capital. After a year of rigorous domestic and international policy coursework in Austin, our LBJ DC Fellows then move to DC to continue their studies, while also entering into a prestigious 6-month Professional Internship with a federal government agency, think tank, non-profit or other public policy entity. The goal is to transition our LBJ DC Fellows into the DC policy workforce a full semester earlier than traditional public policy programs and to better prepare them for the unique DC federal policy environment. Unlike their counterparts at other national public policy schools, they will graduate in December, rather than the following May.

The LBJ School, among the top graduate public affairs schools in the nation, will provide students the option of a full Master of Public Affairs or a Master of Global Policy Studies degree.
